Chalet Brown Obituary

Chalet was a founding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Omega Alpha Omega Chapter, where she was deeply admired for her unwavering commitment to service. In a heartfelt message, her sorority sisters remembered her as a cherished pillar of the chapter—”an instrumental figure in our community… who truly loved AKA.” Her contributions were not only impactful but deeply personal to all who served alongside her.

To her loved ones and peers, Chalet was much more than her titles. She was affectionately called the “Hostess with the Mostest”—a woman of radiant spirit, known for her warmth, humor, and the way she made everyone feel seen and celebrated. Whether lifting others through encouraging words like “come on docta, you got this,” or offering quiet support during stormy times, Chalet’s presence was a beacon of strength and joy.

Friend and fellow scholar Mimi Moffett paid tribute to Chalet, saying:
“She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. So close to defending her dissertation, she was already a doctor in heart, spirit, and brilliance. Her energy, her dedication, and her unwavering love made her unforgettable. She poured into me when I doubted myself. Well done, Dr. Brown. Your legacy will live on.”

Rest well, Chalet. Your legacy is etched in every soul you uplifted. You were a light in this world—and always will be.
